Nude at the Fire Station!

Return to Discussions

It is said by most firefighters that the fire house is our second home. I'm recently retired but when I was working, that didn't stop me living my life as I did at home. I was fortunate to have my own dorm as a Captain but even as a firefighter and sleeping in the main dorm with everyone else, I still slept nude, got up in the middle of the night in view of my co workers and slipped on my boots and pants to respond to an emergency. There we several others that did the same and they thanked me for breaking the ice so that they didn't feel uncomfortable sleeping that way.As a firefigher while working, I'd often get up in the middle of the night and go into the kitchenfor a glass of water and was naked. I encountered others and even my boss who would just shake his head. After I became a Captain of my own station, I had my own dorm, my own crew and I sat with them all and told them about me and said ... "if you have a problem with my nudity in those designated private areas of the station, let me know now. Luckily I did not have anyone that had a problem so I was naked most of the time upstairs in the lockeroom, head and dorm when able.Several times I would venture downstairs in the early morning hours like 2-3am to get a glass of water, check this message machine and even use the restroom. I remember the phone ringing and I answered it downstairs and had to go into my office and take care of an emergency situation. I was naked in the office for about an hour. My boss, who knew I was a nudist, walked by the office door, asked me if I was handling the situation, I replied, "got it covered," and he went back into his office and dorm. His only comment the next morning ... "at least he (I) was sitting on a towel!" On my bucket list was to drive a fire engine naked. I almost succeeded ... or did depending on how you feel or what you consider being nude. Just a week before I retired, I told the crew I was going to take a reserve fire engine out for it's weekly test drive. I walked over to the rig in my turnout boots and pants and a lightweight jacket. I was in the winter but it was a warm evening. Before getting into the rig, I got outta my boots, unzipped my jacket and went for about a 20 min test drive all around the city. When I got back, I jumped outta the rig, grabbed my boots and walked up to my dorm. A couple of the guys saw me and laughed and said ... "scratch that one off your bucket list!" I respond ..."exactly!"
