Return to DiscussionsWhy would anyone join a site called truenudists if you didn't want other people to see you nude? Kind of strange to join a nudist club and show up for a weekend BBQ and be the only person wearing clothes. I'm new here, am I missing something?
OY! I'm on your side 100% It doesn't make sense to me. To me--the clothed one at a naked event is the perv... I'm just sayin'...
However--there are many circumstances that won't allow a nudist to post themselves on the internet. Other members don't always respect the photos posted and work to re-post otherwise. Jobs and HR departments troll looking for "reasons" not to hire--never looking for reasons TO hire!
So--this is the conundrum we live in... we don't all have the freedom to be ourselves on so many levels. So until the biggest hurdle of Mainstream Society not confusing nudism with sex and nudists are perverts... then we will always have this argument.

In many ways you are both right. Nobody could join this group if they don't show nude photos of themselves. So you aretalking to the converted when saying to fellow group members that every nudist should do so.
BUT I often find myself surrounded by genuine nudists wearing clothes whilst I'm the only one who is naked. It happened at Vera Playa in December as the locals were wrapped up against the winter cold and this Brit wandered around the place naked. I guess it will happen next week when I'm in Portugal. There is no big deal. I'm happy as long as they let me strip off. Who cares if they are looking. I'm also happy to recognise fellow nudists here on the internet even if I don't see them naked. Yes there are certain jobs or communities in which it would be risky being caught naked - or even letting them know your a nudist. That may give you problems but it does not make you any less of a nudist. Happily I'm retired and in a community which accepts me for what I am so everyone around me knows I'm a nudist. Does that make me more of a nudist or more of an exhibitionist. It certainly makes life simpler.
No I'm not preaching to the converted. I thought this was a forum where you could pose a question and get a reply. I am new to the site and to TN as a whole. I've always found out if you want to learn ask the experienced, thought that was what I was doing. I am sorry for asking.
No, you're not. In the short time that I've been here. I've noticed that a LOT of people here, either don't have ANY pictures at all on here, or they're just of their face, or they're dressed. Or they're set to friends only.

Yes, it can be a little intimidating at first. But as with anything once you start you wonder what took you so long.
being nude is one thing...wanting to be seen nude is another entirely. clowns like this Miev make people uncomfortable. if you want to see others nude, fine, but do so in a way that is respectful and decent..dont demand, or you will be seen as some ugly little freak
