RE: do you always get nude

Yeah, it's always better to try on pants. Especially those pants, considering all the reviewers that had to return them for being too small. As far as a loincloth, I wore one as a kid for an Indian/Settler program my scout troop put on. There was an article in Boy's Life magazine with instructions on how to make it. I think that was the most comfortable thing I've ever had to wear in my life. Far more comfortable than any pair of shorts I've ever worn. No wonder it was so fashionable with Native Americans 200 years ago. It's a shame it never caught on with European Americans. We'd all be better off for it. But if I wore one with a leopard print around here, while standing up in a boat these days, I'd get more looks than if I were naked. Prolly be arrested by the fashion police too. Although it might be worth it just for the comfort it affords and might start a whole new trend :-) .... but I guess that would be a bit much to wish for. :-(

I wear mesh
shorts with a sort of open mesh and the lining removed when I am going camping.
The shorts are too risqu for wearing in town, but are ok for camping. When I
am canoeing where there are lots of people
I can tuck the legs of the shorts up under the waistband so they form a
sort of thong covering nothing but I can easily pull them back to cover up when
needed. In more open areas with fewer canoes, I take them right off and just
lay them between my legs if I want a cover-up.
Most times I dont bother with the cover-up because my theory is people
can see at quite a distance that I am probably nude. I avoid approaching them
closely, so if they choose a course near me then I presume they are ok with my
lack of clothing. So far I have never had a negative reaction.

Okay peeps. I think I've got this naked kayaking thing figured out. Just wear a spray skirt. And guys, if you have to explain anything to a Marine Enforcement Officer, make sure you do your explaining using your best Scottish brogue. Ladies, you may have to assert your equal rights to toplessness but there's plenty of precedence for that and the law is definitely on your side.

Granted, no skirt is better. No question about that. But for me, it
beats loin cloth or thong or whatever we were discussing earlier.
Plus, it's a common sight so won't draw any attention or even a
double take. Btw, I was just being facetious with my Scottish
brogue comment. Forgot to put in a smiley or an lol.

When I'm in the boat, I don't feel like I'm wearing anything. The
skirt feels more like a part of the boat than clothing on me.
Sometimes I feel like I'm wearing the kayak though, even without
the skirt. But it's when I stand up that's better than the
previously discussed options. There's no struggling with pulling on
shorts or thong or loincloth or any kind of step through stuff. Not
sure about the tear away pants, I never did try that. But
when you're ready to get in or out of the skirt, you can do it
easily while still sitting down. I don't do white water either but I
do go offshore. And I don't always need the skirt out there but
it's easy to store under the deck and takes up almost no room.

I don't usually paddle nude. I usually wear a life jacket. I do like the idea of using the spray skirt and may try that next year. I do often paddle out to an island in the lake I live by and spend hours naked on the best beach on the lake. I've only encountered other people there on a few occasions and there is another not as great beach on the island where I can still get lots of sun.
