I just finished, last week doing a six day long 128 mile section of paddle/camping trip on the Coosa River here in Alabama, as part of a 631 mile scenic river trail. I was nude or at least exposed for I'd say, probaly 90 per cent of the trip.I loved it and can hardly wait to get that kayak back on the river.Randall

messed up my leg recently but i'm going to drag kayak out and try to go end of next week, for those of us older folks looking into buying a kayak - go for the sit on type easier for the old bones to get on and off of or even a canoe. i like my sit in but not as easy to climb into sometimes.

I have a hunters orange flag I fly when I am out in the busy part of the lake. My kayak is camo green as is most of my equipment. It is good for nature photography but not the best in the interest of safety when out in the power boat regions of the lake. I have Scotty fishing pole holders on my kayak and I fasheneda flag pole to insert in the socket. One could use a bicycle safety flag whip but perhaps with a larger flag.

good point Lilstones it good to be seen on the lake rather than being run over. i yak two lake and one river one lake is electric only so pretty safe but the other lake and river can be dangerous by speeding boats. i pretty much hug the shoreline - mostly for the shady trees but i do cross often from side to side.

johni know what you mean have a few lakes i kayak which are close but only one had a small creek off of it where i can enjoy some nude sunbathing, swimmingand kayaking - still have to watch out for others who sometimes fish the area. I have discovered a few others who nude sunbathe there also.

any plans ? have you pulled the boat out yet ? tell us about it.............Well, we have two canoes and two kayaks loaded on the vehicles, picnic lunch packed and ready to go for this afternoon if the t storms don't ruin our plans. Mrs Natraveller, myself and another couple hope to paddle to our favorite skinny dipping spot in an hour or so and beat this heat and humidity.

the other day i was at the big box sporting good store when a man came out being followed with a brand new sit in kayak, the man was in his 50's pretty much like me and I wanted to stop and tell him at his age - and mine a sit on is a lot easier to get into than a sit in but ddidn't want to offend him and ruin his moment at aquiring a brand new kayak but it has bothered me that I didn't say anything and I hope it worked good for him. if tou just purchased a new kayak and someone stopped and offered you some advise would you be offended ? I wish I had seen him as he was looking at them and don't get me wrong i'm not trying to change someones mine but I notice it harder for me to get into my cockpit as I age and think a sit on would have been a better choice - just my opinion.
