Campers In The Nude
Anyone who goes camping in the nude. Be it a tent, trailer. or bus -- just like camping.
Nude in a non nude park?
Return to DiscussionsJust wondering if others had experiences camping in typical camp grounds (non nude), but taking any opportunity for some nude time? I used to do it a lot growing up in the summers, and started to get back into again with an ex who was an avid camper. I just love the remoteness of nature and not worrying about others, having the world to myself and becoming one with nature. Im not opposed to nudist camps, but theres something uniquely special about being nude in nature that isnt simply designated a safe nude zone. Can anyone else relate?
I can totally relate. A friend and I went camping in the Sierras last summer, in what was called "dispersed camping" by the National Forest Service and the Bureau of Land Management. The idea is that you pack everything out that you packed it, dispose of your human waste by either burying or bringing it home, and packing your own water. We drove down one of the dirt roads until it ended and camped there, far away from anybody else. We couldn't light fires due to the fire danger, but otherwise there were no restrictions. Of course, nudity is illegal on federal land, so we had to be discreet.
I have spent time nude in an ordinary state park campground. Mid week, during the day, the place is often empty. On one occasion, I was able to sit outside my trailer sunbathing nude for as long as I wanted. Most of the time, I leave the campground proper and hike the trails nude. Just gotta keep your eyes open for company coming down the trail!

Actually nudity is not illegal on federal land. The feds allow the local constabulary to decide the legality of nudity on federal land. It might be legal in one state or at one beach and not at another.
I understand the same as nakedinlouisvilke ^ . Federal lands dont address nudity as legal or not, so technically its not illegal however they do allow local cities and jurisdictions to have their own laws and THAT is where it gets tricky and in fact have gotten many of us in trouble. While one local jurisdiction may look the other way, another one 4 miles down the beach ( or mountain - whatever) may heavily fine you or even cart you off. So its a royal pain but unfortunately you have to do some research on any area where you might strip down .
Several years ago I found a privately owned campground which was located a long a river. It was definitely a non-nude rv Park. Went there for many years but never had the chance to be nude. Six years ago there was a very heavy winter and come spring there was a very heavy snow melt and run off flooding. The river took out 15 of the 47 sites and they closed the place down. After a couple of years of repairs they reopened.
Last year me and the Mrs went back. Place looked better than ever, but the word didn't get out very fast and from Monday to Friday the entire campground was ours as nobody else was there. Well guess what I did. Five straight days of total nudity. Had to keep my eyes open for the owners and if any body arrived but they didn't until Friday afternoon.
We can fully agree and try to find places like BLM and others where there is lots of space and can usually find most locations free from textiles. Much easier going bush camping in Oz but as mentioned the BLM areas would west are fantastic so check them out.

I do it quite regularly, Our Provincial and Federal campgrounds are all wooded with a fair amount of privacy. With proper placement of our camper and truck, I can enjoy my coffee in the morning and my wine in the evening nude. Still have to keep an eye open for any Rangers.
