Massive weight gain
Return to DiscussionsHi all, so, a few months ago I snapped my ankle, and over the last few months, I have picked up serious weight due to the massive amount of cortisone that I had to take. I am now so self-conscious, that I really am starting to feel uncomfortable being nude out and about at lakes or what have you or spars, or anywhere in public actually.
I am desperately trying to lose the weight, but, it's going so slow.
Really in a bit of a slum here, anyone else feel/felt the same?
I have been doing battle with the waist line since I was 6 years old, my nick name for years was Short Round. If you look at a bunch of the profiles here, you will see there are more of us big guy's here than the smaller ones. You are loosing the weight, so just hang in there.
One thing about being a naturist is that you see lots of different body shapes, sizes, ailments, scars, etc. It happens.
Chances are that you're the only person concerned about your size. I hope that you get the chance to get past this and get back to enjoying nudism
Losing the weight will probably take longer than gaining it, since you won't have drugs helping. Stick to it, though, and you'll be able to get rid of the extra pounds. Nobody at the nudist camp or beach is going to be worrying about what you weigh (unless they already know you, and in that case they'll be trying to help).
I hope you're doing well. The earlier responses are correct. Nudists will not care, but may sympathize with you. I had a similar issue and worked to lose 50 pounds. I'm a lot healthier now and getting back into reasonable shape except I've experienced some sagging skin. Trips to a couple of resorts resulted in me finding that nobody cared about the skin sagging, except to encourage me to continue my efforts to get fit again. If your six pack has turned into a keg and it bothers you, you can ask your doctor to recommend a way to deal with it. I think you'll have plenty of support here.

Agreed. And I think beauty comes from within, not from body shape. Being confident in your skin, relaxed and open give all the right signals which show your real, inner self. And that is true beauty..
Cortisone is a tough med on metabolism and weight but my guess is that the med is not long term. Patience but in the meantime you might want to talk with a professional about tweaking your diet a little, composition-wise.
But don't be dissuaded from enjoying social nudity. The people who sit in judgment about others' weight are in a sorry place and you'll find most honest folk are going to look past it.
I believe our bodies are conservative, don't like rapid change and seek to find their natural equilibrium. That makes rapid weight changes hard to maintain. Your cell memories seek to get back to the day before you broke your ankle. It takes a committed effort: I recommend you find ways to change your diet (focus on more healthy rather than forbidding things) fasting and exercise. Good luck!
