Epilation - does it ever stop hurting?
Return to DiscussionsI am a gorilla. I have always been a gorilla. Even from being around 10 at middle school I hated (okay, hated is too strong) being the hairy one in P.E. when the other lads were hairless. By the time I left school I even had hairs growing on the backs of my fingers and some toes.
My chest was like a shag-pile and if I wore a white shirt people would think I had a t-shirt underneath.
I have for a long time wanted to get rid, and have even been talking to Mar about it for years. Last August we finally decided to do something about it. We started off by trimming my pubes, scissors, then bought a trimmer, then shaving. The look and feel of a smooth pubic area was amazing. This then slowly progressed to shaving my arm pits and trimming my back and chest.
This was amazing, but frustrating. My pubic area, and even my arm pits have to be shaved every 2 or 3 days. I'm sure you can imagine my relief when someone suggested getting an Epilator - you only have to do it every 4 WEEKS!!!!!!!!!
So, I have finally purchased one, and have given it a go. The end results are encouraging but I have one question.
Will it every stop hurting like f**k?????

It did for me. Have been doing penis and balls since 2000. When I first tried it it hurt too much. So I plucked the entire area with tweezers so the epilator would only have to pull out the new growth. This meant less for it to pull out and newer, less entrenched hair. Now I do it once a week and basically feel nothing.

I suggest you do it more often. As with waxing an epilator works by pulling the hairs out by the root. It's bound to be painful even if you take pain killers. When done more often some of the hairs won't have grown back. So fewer to uproot.
You may find waxing a bit less painful as it gets the hairs out first time. I find an epilator grabs and tugs at the hairs a few times before grabbing them well enough to pull them out. That's extra pain for no gain. BTW how do you use it on your sack? I find it grabs and pulls at the wrinkly skin.
Bought one, used it twice and never again! First time, all I read stated that it was "uncomfortable" ... it hurt! Second time ... it just hurt and I put it away thinking I'd try it again sometime but just continued to shave. Almost 4 years ago, I began getting waxed and I'll stick with that method of hair removal. I've got a great esthetician and I enjoy the smooth look and feeling for 5-6 weeks between sessions.
Tried it twice on the nether regions after advice from someone else, never again, I shave but in your case maybe try waxing as someone else suggested.
The pull is not pleasant and while I stretched my skin taut I still got very sensitive skin caught in it, still brings tears to my eyes years later and not from laughter.
I'm with you brother.
After my mishap I had to turn the machine off after rolling my junk up in the damn thing and when I was able to see straight then removing the guard off the trimmer to un-tangle my mess from the damn machine.
There has to be a better way!
