How do you take care of your body ?
Return to DiscussionsSimilar here: try not to use the car at the city (I much prefer walking, or public transport + walking or bike, it also helps you to relax because you don't have to look for parking!), swimming (specially at the sea), sometimes I do running too, and hiking specially in autumm-winter. Also try to eat as healthy as I can, although I love meat and hamburguers, etc, I use to buy and cook lots of organic vegetables and fruit. And beer and wine are healthy, too!
And also I like natural methods to prevent diseases (not to heal, I much prefer scientific medicine for that): vitamin C (lots of oranges, kiwis and lemons) for prevent the flus, or honey and ginger to prevent throat ache,...
DIET:
I am predominately vegetarian. I do eat eggs, yogurt, and fish. If I am out with friends I choose the best options available. (I will have free-range, grain fed, antibiotic/hormone-free turkey on Thanksgiving.)
EXERCISE:
I am a professional dancer so I get to workout daily. I have a Prius but I allow myself to drive to work only 3 times a month. I bike 2.5 miles each way to work. Pilates and (naked) yoga are a part of my regular regime. I make massage a part of taking care of mind (reduce stress) and body (caring for muscles).
I swim every day in the mornings for a few hours, down at the nudist beach near my house. And do some running on thebeachtoo.
Then after lunch i workout for a few hours again on my home gym in a room ive set aside in the house. Weights too.
I do this most, if not, every day.
