Naked or Nude?
Return to DiscussionsI don't know, but the more I look at the term naked, which is used so widely, not having anything to do with nudity.
I've realised, being naked means being stripped of whatever and it can mean anything else, not only clothe and meaning to be vulnerable. This would mean, that we as nudists are voluntarily naked, so we are actually nude, when we deliberately don't wear any clothe. Okay friends, lets stay nude.
Naked and nude are words that can mean the same, as well as different things. Much as naturist and nudist both describe naked people, they are labels. I tend to call myself a nudist because I prefer to be naked whenever I can, naturists can be described as people who enjoy being naked in natural situations, usually with other people who like to do the same and at naturist clubs etc.
I have friends who refer to themselves as naturists, others who simply say they like being naked, plus others who also call themselves nudists and yet more who use all three terms to describe themselves. I also have friends from a group of people often referred to as textiles. I get on well with people that all of these terms refer to, but prefer to socialise with nudists, naturists and naked people as I like being in situations when everyone is as naked or nude as I am.
To me does not make any difference of I say nude/naked or nudist/naturist they are bot the same go clothes free or without clothes. what people think is their problem as long as we enjoy what we want to do and that is go nude/naked clothes free or without clothes on. I just do not like wearing clothes but need must with weather and public opinion and places.
I use nude and nudist to describe my lifestyle. I use naked to talk about wearing no clothes. So "a nude is often naked" means a nudist often goes without clothes...
So here is a picture of naked me stood in front of clothed me (or nudist me stoodin front of textile me) under a sign for a place with a long and unpronounceable name.
