I have removed this lengthy post and photos detailing our backyard bath and shower build as the moderators have removed our membership from this group. Not sure why. Disappointed I wasnt contacted, esp after contributing build information

That's looks like a great little spot to relax in at home for you both, well done.
As for hotwater for the tub/shower I have been looking as these for camping, seems like it would suit your situation as well

Hey thanks for the reply and the link. I was looking at this, but it appears to be identical but is over $100 more expensive!

Thanks!

I expect you have already considered this but why not run a hot water pipe from the house or alternatively install a thermostatic valve fed from the house hot and cold water systems before the single pipe to the shower?
In the UK they are about 30 to 50 pounds so they should be a lot cheaper than a water heater and it's associated fixings and certainly more weatherproof.

Hi John, thanks for the practical suggestion.

I had considered this, but the nearest hot water pipe is quite some distance away. It would have to travel along an exteriour wall for quite a few meters, before going underground. More than a 12 meter run.

I looked into Sar's suggestion and found this model is sold under a variety of names. I found (and bought) one for as cheap as $111 (Australian) new on ebay, I have no confidence it is rain-proof and will probably disconnect it and put it away when we're not using it - annoying. I'll report back on what it is like, and if it lasts :-)

Always thought an outdoor shower would be great! Just dont really have the privacy it would require. I hope you get it completed and will share pictures of the completed project.

I agree, really nice work. I don't think we'd get much use out of a tub though but the setting for that tub is very nice!
