Return to DiscussionsThere is a great book "Meeting At The River" by David L. Hatton that espouses the view that we are made in the image of God and the human is that image bearer. There are many references in the Bible that refer to the nude body being acceptable. Matthew 24:18 "Neither let him who is in the field return back for his clothes." (KJV) We in modern times, especially in the USA forget that in ancient times people didn't buy garments off the shelf. Garments were an expensive proposition. People were often nude because it was easier to be nude than to soil there clothes...this might be a viable explanation why Mary and the women who went to the tomb and found it empty mistook Jesus for the gardener. It was commonplace for a gardener to do his work nude so that his clothes would not be soiled. Why then when as in Mathew 24 at the "abomination of desolation" would someone need to "return to take his clothes" if he wasn't working nude in the field.
The Human body is a beautiful thing and we are all image bearers
I look forward to perusing your site in greater detail.
