Just shaved it!
Return to DiscussionsMy hair started falling out at the beginning of Nov. I had been diagnosed with Alopecia Areata many years ago, but it only showed up as bald patches on my chest and stomach. Now it has migrated to my head and is colonizing all the available real estate. The patches got so big last week I knew it was time to shave it, along with the eyebrows (which were getting pretty mangey).
Wow!
I had only shaved my head once, and that was about 15 years ago. The funny thing was that I loved it (except for the daily shaving) but nobody else seemed to. It's still a little strange seeing myself with no eyebrows, but I'm gradually getting used to it. And once I got past the "well, I chose to do it back then and now it's not my choice" thing, I'm starting to see the coolness of it.
Fortunately, you can't see my five o'clock shadow because my hair is white. I can feel rubbing my hand over my head, but it's invisible (which is good, or I'd look like a spotted cow or a dalmation!). So check out the new me!
