A Nudist's Diary
This is a group where members enjoy to write and read experiences in nudity.
When in Spain
Return to DiscussionsA week ago my friend and I spent a week in Gran Canaria. We researched the nudist beaches using the Federacion Espanola de Naturismo (FEN) website https://naturismo.org . We did already knew of the biggest and best at Maspalomas, our base. We also had advice on other places to be naked. Seeking variety we roamed the island. We always drove naked, donning a wrap, short skirt or toga to get to and from the car.
One of the beaches has a frequent passenger ferry running close by. I waved at the passengers and they waved back.
The road north took us through the mountains with brilliant viewpoints. We stopped and got out for a photo without thinking to cover ourselves. Passing motorists simply cheered.
Our route to Maspalomas nude beach took us through the dunes where nudity is also practiced. We came across a tourist camel train. Some gave us the thumbs up. Two ladies took our photos.
Maybe the FEN advice that it is legal to be naked anywhere in Spain was right. Nobody objected when the wind lifted my wrap of toga revealing everything. Neither did they even comment on the mini-skirts I wore to dine and drink in the evenings.
Someone on another board retired to Gran Canaria and has said that he essentially lives nude.
Has even found some shops, cafes, and taverns that allow nude patrons.
If he wears anything, it is a wrap for most places and a kilt on the rare occasions he has to be properly dressed. Only owns one pair each of shorts and jeans and hasn't worn either for a long time.
