When driving naked
Return to DiscussionsThis happened yesterday and I decided it's not worth keeping to myself.
I had another wonderful day at the nearby nude beach with beautiful people. I was actually thinking of visiting the local pool and on my drive, I thought, I have way more time, let's forget the trunks and hit the beach instead. It was the first time this year that the temperature was hot enough that I stayed in the very cold mountain water. I enjoyed a conversation with other naked people in the water, then on the sand. I got to nap a little, then hike naked to another beach, which was all to myself.
It was getting late and I knew the other nudists I saw earlier headed out. I always like to hike back to right before the public, main trail before putting anything on. It was pretty late so I dared myself to stay naked on the main trail. I kept a towel in my hand in case and kept looking around, but no one. I made it all the way to the main road, where there are always cars, and wrapped the towel to cross the street. Once I could, I slipped the towel off and got in the car.
The drive home is about half an hour, almost all highway. By the time I got to the highway, it was dark. Maybe a quarter of the way, I'm zipping down the fast lane when out of nowhere appears a deer, right in front of me! I had very little time to react - slammed the brakes, hit the horn, and swerved. My stuff in the front seat flew forward. Thankfully, the deer went left, I went right, and we avoided each other. (In my rear view mirror as I kept going, I saw it go back towards the other lanes, so I hope other drivers and the deer are ok!)
For the rest of my drive (still naked, I wasn't going to pull over and get dressed), I kept thinking, what if something did happen? If I had to get out and assess damage or worse, hopefully I could get to the clothes in my bag... Or if it was even worse and people came to help... Thankfully, I didn't need to face those decisions and I'm alive to tell the tale. Not my first time driving naked, certainly won't be my last. I always thought driving naked helps me focus on the road, and this may have confirmed it. Thanks for reading.
Regardless of the focus, if the animal is unpredictable, there's perhaps little that can be down unless one sees them in time to slow.
My only experience was with a kangaroo (kangaroo 0 - car 1, without damage) but the way it lept in front from where I thought I could safely pass gave me a real understanding of how headlights totally mess with their perceptions. I've yet to encounter a deer in similar situations.
For the cases involving deer coming through the windscreen I suspect there'd be no chance to dress afterwards.
My other close encounter was a black cow on a highway - if it didn't have a patch of white on it's nose I may not have seen it until too late. The sheep, on another occasion, was slightly easier to pick out in the beams of the headlights, but only slightly.
When driving at night, especially up north hitting a deer is my greatest fear. They can do a ton of damage on a car plus possibly injuries. If I hit a deer and was injured rest assured that having the paramedics see me naked would be the least of my concern. Actually that would be the only positive of that situation.
I drive naked a lot, and often in rural areas where deer (and heaven forbid moose) are a real challenge to contend with. I have had 3 encounters with deer over many years, but none when I'm naked. The naked thing is something to take into account, but it hasn't discouraged me from enjoying my nakedness while driving. I'm a pretty careful driver anyway, and am more attentive to traffic laws, etc when I'm naked. Those are the factors I can control, I guess I just will handle the ones I can't control as best I can if the need arises. Glad the OP had such a good result! Let's hope all of us naked drivers have as good a result.
I too have been known to drive sans clothing. I too live in a rural area where deer are common. In over three decades i have had several close encounters with deer. The closest being when a deer jumped over my Miata one dark October morning on my way to work. I heard the hoof hit the antenna with a ding. I had clothes on. When I do drive nude I make extra certain I obey the speed limits and stop signs . I do not want to
talk myself out of a speeding ticket while naked.
My close encounter with an animal while on wheels involved a dead cow in the farmer's lane that I was riding on naked by the light of a full setting moon. I had to swerve to miss it. If I had hit it and gone ass over teakettle the farmer might have found me sprawled naked and knocked out come sunrise.

Did you ever drive the Miata nude with the top down?
That would be extremely daring because it is so low it would be easy for anyone to see you.
