First time
Yes I did think to my self what have I been afraid of and why why did I not do this years ago I regret all the time I have wasted on worry it was all for nothing but. I am going to make up for lost time now. I love it thanks to all of the great people out there for there help and your great comments about my first time. I just hope nudists out there wanting to try it see how much I enjoyed it and will try to like I have.
Your first experience sounds like it was a very positive one, which is great. The more people who share similar stories the better it should be for other newcomers/shyer people to start being more open about being nudists.
I'm lucky in that I was introduced to social nudity many years ago and don't have the issues that many face when it comes to being open to all about being a nudist. I do understand that things can be tricky in certain circumstances, employment being one such area and my partner faces this, she keeps more to the background while I'm upfront to all about our nudism. I've never had an adverse reaction when someone I know has found out that I'm a nudist, if I did get that sort of comeback I'd want to shrug my shoulders and just move on, if someone can't deal with nudism I'm not going to worry about it, I enjoy it and life is rather short. I like being a nudist and I can't imagine not being one.
In general I think that the hurdles newcomers perceive to taking their first steps in the nudist side of life are often bigger mentally than in practice. newcomers have said similar to what you did, why the worry, why didn't I do this earlier etc Nudism is a fantastic way of life, life is far more enjoyable when naked with like-minded people, try it. At least you'll know for sure one way or the other if you do try it.
Sounds like it went well - good! My opinion about others knowing I'm a nudist is that it's just one aspect of who I am. If they're so upset by how I dress (or don't), it may be best that we're no longer acquainted. You have to live your own life, and you can't give other people an absolute veto on your behavior.
Good on you freedom, glad it went well. There's one thing that's a dead cert, you never forget your first time. Especially if it's something you've wanted to do but had to pluck up the courage (as opposed the the lucky ones who grew up with it).
I remember my first time being nude in public, I was a little nervous at first!! But once I was out of my clothes and sitting there on the beach with hundreds of other people enjoying the freedom of no clothes, the nervousness went away!! That was in 1976 at Blacks Beach, my ship was in San Diego for liberty call!! I never missed a chance to go to Black's when ever my ship came to San Diego!! Not much social nudity time with a very textile wife in the Bay Area!! Would have loved to go to Baker, but that is another story!! So glad that you found the freedom you have been looking for!! Stay happy and stay nude!!!
Great you got off to a good start! As a free range nudist, I miss having spontaneous social nudist opportunities in the Midwest. In Europe they are unstructured, people hanging in public parks with no clothes. Now I need to restrict that to private events and places which are usually indoors, expensive and restrictive. The good thing is that things always change!
My first time in public nudity was with a bunch of buds when we were 11 or 12 and running around the country in southern Illinois. Many times, we stripped off to go skinny dipping in the creeks, then laid out in the sun to dry off. Then we grew up and wore clothes!!Next time wasn't really until 2010 when I went on R&R in Greece. Met my wife in Athens and headed to the island of Skopelos. They have a nice nude beach there. I suggested going. She said she wanted to go but wasn't sure about going buff. It was early September--beautiful weather and only about a dozen people on the beach. I stripped off without hesitation. She chose to lay out in her suit. Thirty minutes later, I looked over and she had taken it off. She ran to the water and back the first time, but then got used to it. We later took a stroll up the beach which was nearly a mile long. We went back every day in the afternoon after touring the island in the morning.

great story! hope you are getting more public naked time together with your wife.
Not my actual first time, but first time in over a year and a half, went to my old clubs c/o swim night, besides meeting up with some old friends plus an Asian couple (Vietnamese).
The guy was OK being nude straight off but his girl was shy and kept her suit on, but stripped down during the night. Although shy out of the water and her need to cover up quickly she had a great night and no doubt will be back again with her partner.
It was great to see as she had to overcome traditional cultural taboos to participate like my wife had too on her first social excursion a few years back.
Good hearing about others' first times, and I find that it's almost
always Positive and often "Life-Changing"! For anyone who has not
been nude among others in a nudist setting, those initial
reservations disappear after the first minute or so. One soon
discovers, too, that being clothed among nudists can seem as
awkward as being nude among clothed folks.. .
I feel fortunate to have joined my first nudist club a few days
after my twenty-first birthday. It was as if discovering a part of
myself that was always there just waiting to be released. That
first day was magical--volleyball, swimming and sunbathing among
others who were just as naked as I was. . . and it all felt so natural and relaxing! It was the
beginning of lifelong dedication to nudism and I've never
looked back, if anything have introduced many others to nude
recreation.
