backyard privacy and showers
Here in the Valley of the Sun just about each house has their back yard with a privacy wall which is a good 6 feet tall some 7 feet. So sun bathing or working in the nude is no big deal. As for a shower just use your outdoor water faucet and build sides with an opening door using 2x4s to let the air in, but not prying eyes.
Anyone here have any creative ways of creating privacyin thier yards or on their decks/patios? Would also love to seesome ideas for an outdoor shower we are planning.
There are two groups ... "Love to take a Bath Outdoors" and "Bathing
Outdoors". You should join one or both and you'll see some ideas
and get some ideas for outdoor showers from all those that are
members of that group.
I put an outdoor shower in near my spa, all I did was replace a faucet with a tee and added a short pipe, valve, another pipe and showerhead. It is one of the greatest things I did in the back yard. I find myself looking forward in an early morning shower after getting up to start the day or when getting out of the spa. I also use it after working in the yard or to cool off when it gets too hot.
You must have some awesomely warm water at your house!!! If I tried that I would have to stick my thumb up my butt and yell snake just so I could find it to pee. We are planning to add an outdoor shower for our pool this year, I will just tap into the hot and cold water lines in the laundry room and add a shutoff valve inside so I can cut the water off in the winter, viola a nice comfortable shower without maximum shrinkage.
I effected a 7foot high bamboo screen on one side of my yard , as my garden faces west I get the sun. It's an ideal little sun trap, my one neighbour got used to seeing me nude quite often she would have coffee with me, she stayed clothed .
When we built ours last year it faced the wooded area so we didnt make any type of surround. Word spread quickly around the park about it and the fact our neighbors were being allowed to use it. All of a sudden the maintenance workers decided to drive their tractors and atvs down along the woods uptimes a day. I uprighted some 4x4s and bought an 8x6 piece of wooden fencing. Cut it if half and installed a 4 ft section on each side and installed a shower curtain across the front. After the realization that the peep show was over, they no longer drive through anymore and things are back to normal. We never even had to close the curtain. It was enough to ruin their fun.
