First nude gardening day of the year
Today we have full sun and temps in the mid 50-s - perfect for the first nude gardening of the year. Since there is still a foot of snow on the ground, I cleared out an area to work on my mushrooms. I was able to inoculate 5 logs with Shiitake mushroom spawn and I can't wait to eat them. I must be patient since the fall will likely be the earliest harvest and more likely next spring.
Enjoy those mushrooms!! We have the first weekend in mid-60's so I'm at last heading to Pine Tree to start spring clean up in my garden. Last fall I built a retaining wall for expanded flower bed. 6 meters by 3 meters. Filled it with tulip bulbs. Haven't seen results yet. Excited to view. Plan on lots of zinnias, coleus, begonias, lantana, portulacca, hosta. Have huge day lilies and lots of crocosmia planted. Coreopsis does well there. Also, moved 10 indoor palms to indoor pool last fall. They've done very well in their winter Windows. Will move them back to the out door shower area. Love the tropical look. Bought some cool painted pots in California that I'll place around. AND, bought some beautiful solar lanterns for the trees! Fun!! Nude best to all you gardeners!! Bob
