Back in FL last Wed. where the weather is great and the fishing is even better!

Arrived on Wed. Went off shore Thursday morning with two buddies for state water grouper fishing.. Put six nice Red Grouper in the Box. That is correct....Red Grouper is OPEN in State Waters. Everyone thinks it is closed however if you read the Fl Regs. Red Grouper is open to sport fishermen in state waters only. Fed Waters are closed and it is closed to Charter and Head boat Fishermen in both state and Fed waters. Also put 18 nice 12 to 15 inch Lane Snapper in the cooler, a couple Big Mangrove Snapper and some Spanish Mackerel. Yesterday did backwater fishing but started at the mouth of the river and there was a major feeding frenzy going on there. Huge Kings jumping all over chasing large bait and Spanish Mackerels. Spanish schools everywhere chasing glass minnows. Caught several Spanish, Lost one Very Large King and then done with that and went to catch bait for snook. Snook fishing was very good landing 6 in mid November, Pretty nice!! Get out on the water and report in. Water is very warm yet and everything is biting..

This will take you right to the Florida Fish and Wildlife page that will tell you where the lines are so there is no question. FWC boats have been out watching the line and the boats, at least that is what I have been told. Make sure if you fish in state waters and put a grouper in the cooler that you don't travel into Fed Water as that is a big problem if you are checked returning to state waters. We stayed in state waters all day. Plenty of fish there at this time as the water is still very warm. Hope this helps, Good Luck !

Question - do you ever run into the FF&W folks while fishing offshorenude? Do they care? They haven't batted an eye with me. They have asked for fishing license when I had no tackle in the boat and was just boating out to a campsite. They seem more surprised I am not fishing than that I am not wearing clothes.
