Central New York State (USA) - Finger Lakes National Forest
I have been doing a lot of exploring up in the Finger Lakes National Forest lately. In my weekly hikes since April, I have only run across 3 people. One guy I met as soon as I parked. I had come straight from work and there was only one car in the lot. I was in the process of changing out of my work clothes, when he called out. He didn't seem concerned that I was changing, walked right up to me and started talking to me about the area. He didn't look like a ranger, I told them I was a nudist and looking for some hiking time in the great outdoors. He asked me if I would mind if he joined me, and we spent the next 3 hours hiking around the woods, laying beside a pond and getting to know each other.
The osecond guy was an older guy. I met him on the way back to my car, noticed him down the trail and put my shorts on. We talked for a while, he was tracking a fisher. We talked about that for a while, and just before I took my leave, he said "Keep an eye out for rangers. SOme of them don't care for nudity up here." But he didn't seem concerned at all.
The third WAS a ranger. I noticed him up the trail and slipped my shorts on. Once I caught up to him, we talked for a while. I was fortright and told him I enjoyed spending time naked in nature, and sunning up here. He cautioned me that some rangers wouldn't have that, but told me he was also a nudist, and gave me several good places to check out where I wouldn't be bothered much at all. He caut
All in all, VERY positive experiences up there. Just be aware that this is open land where you may encounter textiles who may or may not be open to naturism. I imagine my experiences are on one extreme.
