almost always - live in a warm climate so it doubles to keep any perspiration off the furniture

It depends - mostly yes, especially if visiting others homes. At my place I don't always but then I am pretty careful to be clean. Usullay hard surfaces are not a problem and can be easily wiped down.

RE: do you use towels?

I keep towels handy for sitting on hard chairs and other furniture. Do any of you use towels around your house to sit on?
Its your home, so you can towel or not towel as you see fit. I just like to put a towel down as a standard anyway. I never know what's going on down there no matter how clean I think I am...LOL.
Personally, I try to set a towel down everywhere, but often I just sit for a minute and then move on so I don't bother. The car has leather seats, so ALWAYS a towel. That upholstery is brutal.

I truly do not see this towel use as a "cleanliness" issue. Our routine and hygiene practices are beyond reproach. But ... our bodies secrete oils and to keep our upholstered furniture from absorbing those oils from skin and hair, we sit on towels that cover our bottoms, back and hair.
I understand that it's your home and you can decide not to use towels ... that's your right and prerogative, but I hardly think that many nudists use towels because of a cleanliness issue but more as habit from using towels wherever we may visit and be naked on whatever surface we use. It's just sometimes more comfortable.
