Anyone tried gluten-free beer?

I'm trying to loose weight so I can be a stud muffin and all that so I tried gluten-free beer.
One word came to mind after trying several - SHIT! It tastes like sour apple cider that is stale. My opinion of course.
Anyone else?

Estrella Damm from Spain has a decent gluten free beer. I ordered it once by mistake (the GF part was the mistake). But, are you looking to cut calories in G F beer? I wouldnt expect to see much difference there.
