Last Off Shore Trip

Yesterday was the last off shore trip for the season for me. The Red Grouper population seems to be doing very well as we caught so many undersized fish all day long but was only able to put one keeper in the box. Part of that is we were not out past 20 miles and that water gets fished very hard and the Grouper Fishermen who fish that area are like walleye fishermen in WI. If it hits the size limit it goes in the box. I understand that but then the fishermen can't complain about only catching 18 and 19 inch fish. Hopefully by changing the limit to two fish per person per day helps with that. Of course it wouldn't hurt to shut down both the commercial fishing and sport fishing during the spawning season either. That may just make to much sense!
