Boy Scout Troop led on Blacks Beach by Accident

I had trouble with the link, had to take the "s" off of "https:"
"Dressed inappropriately" at a nude beach? Does that mean that some of the
people had clothes on? LoL What I liked was the comments on the original article, 98% said it was
no big deal for the scouts to see naked people, just enjoying being
nude.
I wonder how many, if any of the scouts thought they would like to come back to this place when they are old enough to go on their own. They may not have realized such places existed. As you can tell from some of the posts on this forum, there are quit a few people here that were going nude when possible when they were in that age group. So what's to say some of these young fellas aren't doing the same? But seeing how the terrain is to get to this beach, I don't believe it was purely accidental that they were brought here.

Thanks for tip on the link.
I have tried about 20 times tonight to get rid of the s from https and it keeps coming back. I think the forum here must insert it.
Safari on the Mac always tries to go to a secure version of a web site, so it changes http to https. Unfortunately, a lot of websites are still not set up with a secure version of their pages, so Safari times out. I will then manually click on the address bar and delete the s and the site loads right up. I get what they are trying to do, but it can be annoying when you click on a link and think your internet connection is slow, only to realize it is just the secure address redirect to a site that doesn't know how to handle it.
Blacks Beach is known world wide as a nudist beach. I doubt that there are few people in San Diego who are unaware of its status. It is often mentioned in the local news and everyone snickers when you mention it. Therefore, I seriously doubt this Troop leader's claim that it was an "accident". The news article mentioned that some people weredressed inappropriately. Wrong, they were dressedappropriately for the time and location. It is these types ofeventsby the curious and non-nusists that causes additional restrictions for nudists.

That's basically the same thing I was getting at in my last sentence in post #4 above. I doubt it was purely accidental/unintentional. It's not like you can casually stroll out onto this beach, you have to make a concerted effort to scale down the steep cliffs to get there. I went there when I was stationed in San Diego back in the early eighties.
A little history is in order. I was a cub in the 1960's, a Boy Scout in the 1970's, and a Scoutmaster in the 1980's. This time period saw a massive shift in culture towards body protection. I do not know how it is now, but by the late 1980's between the AIDS epidemic and the awareness of the rare but present abuses, body shame had taken over as the way to combat potential danger and abuse. The culture went from taking skinny dips while on camping trips to (a) cool off and (b) bathe off the dirt, to the 1980's boys showering in the shower house with bathing suits kept on. Boys used to be taught general personal hygiene as part of the boy Scout Handbook, copyrighted circa 1960. I didn't have boys, so I did not continue being active in the Boy Scouts. So I do not know the current culture. I am happy the parents stood up for the leader instead of crucifying him. I saw a lot more than that while camping, we just rolled with it, protected our boys from danger and it's just life around us happening. These boys need to learn about the world and how to successfully cope in it.
