perception on gay nudists - open discussion
this is a recent exchange i had with an individual, mind you, i made no
sexual advances or comments to allude to the fact i was looking to try
and be nude with an ulterior motive. i cannot believe the assumptions
that are made when a few bananas spoil the rest of the fruit bowl. i
would like to open the discussion as to allow both heterosexual and
homosexual nudists to participate in this.
this was copied as is from the exchanges, i have removed the name as to not blast the individual involved:

Hey,
I was just looking at your profile again. I didn't realize you were
gay. Sorry I'm a straight guy here. I'm only looking for straight
buddies, girls and couples. I'm not looking for anything sexual. Hope
you understand.
Stay Naked.

RE: RE:
wow,
i'm actually offended. just because i am a homosexual does not mean i'm
a sexual deviant or am utilizing this to get some sexual encounters.
the fact that you have the gall to assume such things is completely
disrespectful. nudism isnt about sexual preference, race, gender or
judgement, its about like minded individuals who congregate to enjoy
being in the natural way we are supposed to be. the fact you are
restricting it to "straight buddies" is suspect enough on its own, but
to cut out individuals, who you have not even given a chance to get to
know or communicate with and then make unfounded accusations and
disregard them because of something that shouldnt even be a factor. i
have made no sexual advances toward you and think that you should
realize that in the world we live in, you should open up your mind and
not be such douche.

Unfortunately it's a double standard, it's ok to be str8 and a nudist but if you're gay and a nudist then you must be looking for a hookup. I think we're all offended by this.
I feel what he is saying is that he is not a nudist ,that he is the one looking for sex not the company of other nudist , so there fore trying to turn it around so he dont look like the bad guy when really all he is doing is making himself look like a narrow minded jerk !when i am in a nudist situation i make a point to not to even worry about someones sexuality that is not why i am a nudist , i just want to make friends regardless of who they fall in love with whether it be same sex or opposite sex

Really well put! Great comment.
Whenever I have conversations about nudism to textiles and nudists alike, one of the first things I like to point out is that nudists are NOT asexual just that it's not the main focus of why we like to be nude.
That said, on TN and elsewhere there are just as many heterosexuals (mainly men) looking for sex and posting large volumes of pictures of nude women who claim that what they're doing is "nudism".
Whether gay or straight one of the biggest problems we have is not those who behave inappropriately but those of us who remain quiet. Just as textiles confuse inappropriate behavior by those who happen to be naked as representing all nudists so do heterosexuals who do not see or hear from gay nudists.
I did not understand if this is a response after contact that you hired him or if it was he who contacted you first. (I'm French, I do not always capture the nuances of the words!).
In all cases, the act of writing you like me (and everyone else) on the site Truenudists gay groups is a forthright with respect to other members because we do not hide anything, nor our bodies, nor our sexuality. This does not mean that we can discuss with other members of all the subjects that we have in common. If the individual blocks on the fact that you're gay, proves that he is not comfortable with his own sexuality. It could simply respond that you are not gay and can discuss the theme (or themes) of reason that has (have) that you entered in relationship, without necessarily being aggressive!Claude
