Nude vs lewd
I live in New Hampshire, US. Ran across two news articles in the past week that are relevant here.
Man in Derry was found guilty of indecent exposure and lewdness for masturbating in front of a salesman that came into his house. Another was stopped for masturbating while driving on I 293. I've been nude in that same place, but never stopped.

For the record I don't disagree.Although for interpretations of nudism, how far back in history do you go? 20th Century? Ancient Greece? Either way, most of uslive in cultures where there are boundaries of acceptability when it comes to public sex. However, this applies to nudism too -and there is always a danger that behaviour that pushes these boundaries might lead to less tolerance of e.g. unofficial nude beaches. That said, there's no indication in the OP's message that the subjects were even nude - so what makesthetalesabout nudism in the first place? We don't have the whole stories but, taking what information we do have at face value, thefirststoryseems a bit prudishbecause the salesman was in the person's home - he could have simply left if he didn't like the person he was trying to sell to. And I sincerely hope the person in the second story was pulled over for dangerous driving, rather than masturbating per se -if not, I'd question the priorities of the policeman!
I agree with AndyDi. I happen to be both a nudist and an exhibitionist, but I'm smart enough to keep the behaviors separate and engage in each in appropriate places. For example, I only sunbathe nude at established nude beaches and don't push the limits at other places. I did get naked on a recent hike, but only after another guy made it clear that it was okay.
I've had sex in public spaces, but only ones where I could not be seen, or a cruisy place where visible sex would be welcomed.
I have seen people having sex at Apollo and Playalinda late in the afternoon away from crowd . Was it rude for me to watch and enjoy?
That's up to you. What I'm saying is that, that has stopped being about nudism and more about exhibitionism and voyeurism. The line is there. It's up to you and every nudist to decide what line they are willing to cross and use "nudism" as a starting point to these other things they seem to need. We just happen not to be interested in watching other people have sex and we certainly do not condone or agree with those having sex in public where others can see them, at nudist venues where it violates rules of etiquette or threatens the possibility of the nudist venue to be taken away because of those actions.
We've witnessed many people having sex, masturbating on the beach, having oral sex ... we've told them to stop, go home, find a place where no one can see them and if they refuse, we've called the authorities to do something about them. Each time we've done so ... they've all left before the authorities arrived except for one couple who thought they were in their right to do so.
Being nudists and being naked doesn't automatically relieve us of acting appropriately, having manners and respect for others. ;-)
there is a time and place for everything and i enjoy going nude i try to promote by showing how natural it is if it just taking out trash to the can trying to make it a everyday thing and sofay my neighbors have not had a problem with it . sofar the most fun i had was skinnydipping in my wifes nieces pool tho no one joined me at the time my niece did come out with a cold drink and we did chat as we both sat at the edge of the pool
