Naturist Olympics
As I take my place on the starting block, a hush sweeps around the spectators at the side of the swimming pool. A race is about to begin. The Union Jack is emblazoned on my swimming cap and to my left - poised and at the ready - are two lithe and toned Germans. I am competing for Great Britain at an international swimming competition and it should be a great honour.
But I can't shake the feeling that there is something very, very wrong. For, apart from a silly stretchy hat, I am completely and utterly stark naked. And about to take part in the world's largest nude swimming gala in front of hundreds of total strangers.

Good article, well written without any of the usual innuendo's
It has been said that the current swimsuits are slicker and provide less resistance than no swimwear at all, so they result in faster times. Maybe they should try it both ways to see if that is scientifically accurate, or not. ... Then do it nude, regardless of the results. :-)

That is a good reason for them to be done nude. No one would have an advantage over another due to the clothing they were provided with for the event. It would be strictly athlete against athlete, with no garments affecting the outcome of the event, be it swimming, running, high jump, whatever. A level playing field for all in the competition. Use body paint for numbers to identify who is who.
Apply this to the winter Olympics as well. There may be some new records set in skiing competitions, as they try to hurry up and finish sooner to get back in a warm area. Even hockey would be played wearing ONLY the skates, and painted on numbers.
As most of you know, the original Olympics in ancient Greece had all nude participants. Today's Olympics is because society is 99 percent textile.
If only they would bring back the original spirit of the Games... sportsmanship wuithout any body shaming agenda.
