Serviced apartment... a possible solution to lack of meeting venues

Quite often the lack of venue for meetings and socials can be a problem, for people not comfortable with meeting in a pub or club.
So, how about this for an idea. A group of us could club up and pay for a serviced apartment for an evening, and have a bit of a social get together.
The prices appear to start at 80 per night, and it would be better than some hotels as there wouldn't be a receptionist wondering why two dozen people are making their way to room 325 (although recent hotel meets I've had does not suffer from this, because the reception is harder to find than the room itself!!!!).
Does this sound like a good idea? Thoughts anyone.

Yes an idea worth considering, the is also a site www.nakedmates.co.uk where guys organise get togethers. Could do with a few more local members. Check it out and join in.
