RE: Swimmers ...

Without being able to read the forum mentioned, or having it cited, and being a regular attendee I can comment as follows - the changing room can appear as described, but this could be a result of a number of people having lockers next to one another. The swim is certainly very well attended and sometimes almost all lockers in the changing room are in use, (the swimmers are not the only users of the changing facilities). Should lockers become spare there is nothing to stop people moving to where there is more space. The concentration of people not swimming tends to be, but not exclusively, against the sides of the pool at the shallow end and there is a limited amount of space and it can fill quite quickly. Finally, although this swim takes place in London many nationalities attend each with their own perceptions of personal space, some, like the British, tend to like a good deal of space around them while others may find such behaviour unusual. Come along and enjoy the swim.

RE: Swimmers ...

Thank you for clarifying, I hope my post did not offend, it does sound like a good event. I now understand that in a crowded environment personal space can often be at a premium, indeed I just had similar problems at my gym after using the showers! Like many reviews we find online, some people will only post the negative, and that's what we focus on. I will definitely come along and find out for myself.

Does the London swim have a good gender mix?

Does the London swim have a good gender mix?No, it's nearly all men. There are a couple of women sometimes. BN do a women promotion periodically where the pool is reserved for women for the first half hour or so, once a year or something like that.
