She had already stopped and was exiting the vehicle when they shot her, the danger of anyone being run over was past. So unless you're suggesting retribution was called for, her death was unnecessary. Critical thinking makes things a bit clearer, Johnny.

There was a volley of shots from several officers, not one individual who might have jumped the gun. No pun intended.

While she was STILL in the car.
Video of police car striking pop up barrier, causing the horrendous damage to it, seen in many pictures. Many stories implied the woman caused this damage by striking the vehicle herself.
