Attempt at nude golf foiled...curses!
I should have never considered it, but I had most of the back nine on our nice muni to myself today, and seeing no one else around decided to hit at least one shot completely nude. I teed up my ball on a protected teebox, back to the cart and stripped. Then, I addressed the ball, waggled twice, and out of the corner of my eye saw movement in the distance. Where that cart came from is beyond me, lol! Oh well...hurriedly threw on the damn clothes and parred the hole.
I've only done it once ... and didn't play the whole holenude but tee'd off without my shorts, so I wasn't naked , just bottomless. The guys all had a laugh. I at least am able to say that I hit a golf ball on a regulation course, "bottomless", and didn't get caught. It is truly HIGH up on my bucket list to play a round in the nude. Once my wife retires and we begin to travel ... I'm finding every nudistclub that has a "pitch and putt" and playing as many holes as I can during our stay! :D
I was up at the Sunshine Beach Club about 2 weeks ago having a picnic with some friends. As I looked at all the open area around the small lake, it hit me . . . . GOLF!! There's plenty of room to set up three or four pitch n putt holes around the lake. It's wide open and even has some sand traps and one big water hazard. I asked Art, the owner, if I could do it, he showed me where the clubs were and said to go for it.
That wouldn't happen here in Southern California. We have so many tracks ... I'm sure that with the right advertising ... we'd get plenty of nudists to participate in a Nude Tournament but the courses off the beatened path that would be good are popular courses and they wouldn't need the business. The one's that need the business ... are surrounded by homes, apartments and businesses ... not conducive to a Nude Golf Tournament. Our club was sponsering a golf tournament locally and had to pull the plug on it because they couldn't get enough members of the club to sign up. Not enough advertising at the surrounding clubs. It wasn't gonna be a nude tournament. Maybe that's what killed it! hahaha
One game I would not like to play nude, is cricket. Ouch,,,, have you ever been hit with a cricket ball.

I had to Google "Bowling a googly" and I have to admit that, while I understood it, reading the terminology was pretty much Greek to me. Of course, I've never watched that sport or have any clue as to the objectives.
