Mud Runs Should Be Nude
Just finished my second mud run yesterday. I could take off everything at the "showers" to rinse off except the shorts. Theyhad to stay on. This meant I had to reach under to try to clean off the mud. The problem was that the shorts had a lot of mud on/in them. Could not rinse my legs off because, you guessed it, the shorts had mud on/in them and would drip more mud on the legs. I tried to rinse off the shorts while wearing them, but that took a lot of time. It was necessary none-the-less.I was thinking it would be nice if I could have stripped off the shorts too to just be able to rinse off my body quickly. When I got home, I had to finish rinsing off my shorts. It took a while. Then I got the brilliant idea of having a nude mud run. The mud would quickly cover everything if you were modest. But better yet, clean up after the run would be quick. You would still throw away your shoes and socks, but that would be all.BTW, the course would have to be modified slightly. No barbed wire! Just wire would suffice.
A mud run is a running course with obstacles. They include just mud on the course (30 yards in length), A-frames to climb over, walls, ropes to swing over water, horizontal ladders, water slides, tunnels, mud that you have to crawl through because there is barb wire over you, etc. You get the picture. Some of the runs are easier than others. The hard ones are like military obstacle courses including drill sergeant-like people barking orders at the runners. This one was moderate difficulty. It was cool, and we got wet. The wind was blowing so the wind chill made it so cold everyone was shivering. I recommend waiting until it was warmer.
The mud runs I've been to have been pretty lax about showering afterwards. I mean, people don't stay naked, but a number of people (myself included) have been basically uncovered long enough to clean off and no one has minded.
I mentioned while I was cleaning that it would be easier to take off my shorts to clean up. Only 1 guy replied that he did not care, but no one else had done it (this year or last). If I only had the balls to try...
