"I can see Russia from my back yard". This statement has become an established part of pop culture, aided and abetted by the mainstream media, even though Palin never actually said it. This same media, in their continued frenzy to carry Obama's water, will ignore this incredible display of the CIC's blatant ignorance and stupidity. And even by politician's basement standards, you can't get much more assanine than this one.
Well, despite the Examiner's headline, Obama did not compare the Israeli-Palestinian conflict to the relationship between the US and Canada, as the video makes clear. He held up the US-Canada use of diplomacy to resolve disputes as one to which neighboring states of Israel and and a prospective Palestine could aspire. In that context, he could have cited, reasonably, any two states with a long recent history of the peaceful resolution of disputes.

Our two countries strive to resolve conflicts in an amiable, civilized manner, as opposed to a region which insists on lobbing rockets into civilian areas of a country they repeatedly swear to never recognize. Tina fey said "You can see Russia from my house".the essence is the same, but the slightly exagerrated version appeared in a satirical sketch so the audience could reasonably expect it to be a heightened version of reality, and would be lead to assume it was not word for word what she said but a cartoon version. In reality though, more than ninety percent of the words in thatsketch actually are taken verbatim from the interview withKatieCouric that governor Palin gave and given very little spin.You clearly have a vendetta against President Obama and as such scrutinise his every move to try and in some way enforce your belief that he is an ineffectual president. He would have been closer to the mark if he'd referenced Germany's actions against Poland in September, 1939. The Palin "quote" was actually said jokingly by a reporter, but ask Joe Average on the street and he'll swear she said it word for word. Palin is as intelligent and articulate as most politicians out there, more so than some. You want to talk gaffs? Joe Biden is a walking, talking gaff machine with terminal foot in mouth disease, but the average low information voter out there thinks compared to him Sarah Palin has an IQ lower than Trig's. Clearly it's you with information and/or mental issues. "Israel" is the aggressor, the occupier, the violator of the Geneva Conventions, the Nuremberg Principles and numerous other international laws and UN resolutions.
And it does so with US backing.
It is "Israel" trying to wipe Palestinian society from the face of the earth.
If Israel really wanted "to wipe Palestinian society from the face of the earth" they could have easily done so years ago. Please dial down the hyperbole.
