Burning Man 2013 - Cargo Cult
This group is sort of slow, but we thought we would start a new thread and maybe get some discussion going! Anyone planning to go to Burning Man next summer? We just bought our tickets for 2013 as a part of the holiday pre-sale. So all the ticket stress is off us and we can just plan and prepare for our first trip to the Playa!
We have already contacted a theme camp and will be registering for that in March. We will also be at the Interfuse regional burn in Missouri in May.
Any other thoughts?
:-)
We are hoping to go back to the BRC in 2014, and hitting the Western Carolina regional burn this summer in July which is called Transformus. Are you guys driving out with a camping vehicle or setting up shelter when you get there?
Been out there before, happy to help with any preparation questions or anything else for that matter_Marty
Yes, its good to see enthusiasm for BM2013!! It will be our first trip out to the playa! We are pulling our camper out there so we will be doing pretty good. We will be camping with the Poly Paradise theme camp, and the leader of the camp will also be officiating as we renew our vows. Its our 10th anniversary and what better place!
We are already getting things going also to attend InterFuse in southern Missouri the first weekend in May. That regional burn is about 1500 people. Then in October, we will do the Iowa Burn, and maybe if we can swing it, the Kansas burn the last weekend of September. Its looking to be a pretty busy year and so we are excited! We have only been involved in the burning circle the past 6 months or so, but we are amazed and how awesomely nice all the people are that we have met. We cannot wait to go home to the desert! :-)
Poly Paradise is a GREAT camp to associate. They do the "Human Carcass Wash" every year and also host the Arizona Burners Potluck dinner, usually on Wednesday evening in camp. Is Scotto or Jon doing the officiating for your renewal of marriage vows? Other camps that involve Arizona Burners; Fucking Flamingos, Deviant Playground, Walter the Bus (aka The Tribe,) and more. How is your quest for tickets going? I've seen lots of traffic from yesterday's on-line purchase hysteria. Best of luck on your travels and virgin year at BRC!
