Capocotta Beach (Italy)
After getting married on August 4, my wife and I went to a honeymoon to Rome and Paris.
Being nudists, we decided to visit Capocotta Beach, which isn't that far from Rome. We took a bus to a train station, then a train and a bus again.
On the beach, we saw some topless women, but no one was nude... yet. We knew we had to walk some distance to the left in order to reach the nudist section. So we did.
Soon, we saw a nude man. Then another one. And another.
Well, it seemed that we reached a nudist section... or at least a clothing-optional one. I took my clothes off, but my wife left panties on, since she still wasn't sure it was in fact permitted to be nude.
After a while, we saw a couple passing. The woman was topless. My wife called her. Fortunately, the woman spoke English.
"Is it OK to take bottom off?" my wife asked.
"Well... yeah," the topless woman replied. "But if you get naked, men will bother you".
"So it's totally legal to be naked here?"
"Actually, if you want to be 100% sure, you might want to get to the nude beach first".
Apparently, that was NOT the nudist section yet. It turned out to be some sort of an informal gay section with informally lax dress code. The real nudist section was about half a mile to the left.
We did walk that half a mile, noticing more and more topless women. Finally, we saw a sign. It was in Italian, but I managed to understand something like "Absolutely no nudity beyond this point" -- that is, where we came from. Which also meant it was finally totally OK to get nude (unlike at the gay section, where I had been technically breaking the law).
So we finally stripped and spent several hours enjoying the sea and the sun. Some nude men did approach us, asking for a cigarette or simply saying hi. Some of them stayed away but from time to time touched their genitals, as if adjusting them. Also, we were constantly bothered by some fully-clothed peddlers, who were trying to sell us overpriced drinks and souvenirs.
As to nude women... sadly to say, I only saw two, one of which was my wife. Apparently, the environment there is not very female-friendly...
Oh well... at least we did have a good time, all the inconveniences notwithstanding...
