Wood Shops

Wood Shops, WoW, What I am currently useing is a 10x20 back room, the only room I have not finnished in this house. In it I have the basics. A Table Saw, Planer, Drill Press, Router Table, Band Saw, full size dust collector and 2 3x5 work benches and spots for clamps, hand tools ect. Each tool I need has to be moved into place. Im currently building Raised Panel Doors for the new Kitchen so I need each tool plus some others. But when I get to this room on my remodel list then what, my shop may move to the Living Room, which I tiled. No wounder I live alone....LOL
What are your work spaces like??

RE: Wood Shops

Don't feel bad Mickey...most of us don't even have that much room.
I have nearly all the main floor area in our new house tiled, and neither I nor the missus thinks it is a good idea to carry on using the bigger tools in there. As soon as we can move into the house, then I will have the cabin as my workshop. That is 18 x 24 with a loft. So I could keep the smaller stuff upstairs and have the machinery on the ground floor. Right now, I am relegated to the outside, and if it rains I scurry to get things covered with tarps...hardly an ideal situation.
When I had the main floor of the new house as a workshop, I could bring lumber up from my sawmill into the back door. Then run it through the machinery and out the French doors about 30 feet away. I loved that setup. Only trouble was it didn't take me terribly long to have several tons of wood stacked up inside the house to dry.
I have cut all the tiles out on one of the decks that overlooks the bay. Nice spot to work, but it plays hell with the deck! Just as soon as I get this photo thing all figured out I will get some pics up.
