Had to leave TN due to privacy concerns

This is a good community, but the control of uploaded pictures is weak. My profile was easily viewed - including my profile picture, even though the picture was set to TN only. Each picture I had uploaded was marked to be limited in viewership, but the profile pic popped up regardless. Then that person was able to go in and read my profile which should have only been limited to TN people.
This site is not a good place for people transitioning into this lifestyle or concerned about repercussions elsewhere.
Please be careful with your pics and information.
Other than that, great site. Wished I could have stayed on.
It is not a mahor concern to have a pic posted or not. Several people do not have photos posted for that reason. Now profile is different. You can tell us a little about us without having information that will tell your indentity, but will allow us to know something about you.

Your profile photo can be viewed by registered, logged-in members. That is made clear on your Edit my | Pictures page:* Note. Your Profile picture will be displayed regardless of if it is "only for friends" or "truenudists only".
However, if it is set to "Only for True Nudists", it CANNOT be viewed by visitors and search engines. This is what they see.
Your profile pic cannot be seen, and your album is inaccessible. IAC, there is no requirement to have any photos at all on TN.
If you don't want TN members to see your photos, delete them or set them all to "Only for Friends".This site is not a good place for people transitioning into this lifestyle or concerned about repercussions elsewhere.
This is probably a valid argument, but it leads to a question: "If your employment or social life would be affected by having a photo on a nudist site, would not your very presence on the site have the same effect?"
The odds are astronomical against being accidentally found on a nudist site by someone with his head up his butt about nudism. Assuming that the anally-retentive person uses Google, it can log only what the user chooses to reveal. If a member uses his or her actual name, or posts a traceable email address in the profile, that person should expect to be "exposed". A member using the handle "NakedNudeForever" is safe unless several conditions are met:
The searcher knows or suspects that his target is an EEEEE-vill nudist;
The searcher knows about the True Nudists site;
The searcher knows that the person is a TN member;
The searcher knows the person's username.
Under those conditions, the "discovery" is not accidental.
The only photos that Google routinely logs are the "avatar" images found in forum and group threads; photos in the friends list on one's profile page; and photos posted to the forum or groups. If one's pics are all set to true nudists or friends only, Google will not record them.
As well, TN photo filenames offer no personal information whatever. They consist of 32 hexadecimal digits 0 to 9 and A through F in this format:
0123456789abcdef0123456789abcdef.jpg
It would be impossible to identify a user based on a filename like that.
Last point re photos: unless Google image search is set to "SafeSearch off", most nude photos won't appear in the search.
It was set up for TN only to see. The problem is that when googling a local resort, the fact that I had listed it as a site I want to attend in my profile made mine and all the other people so associated on TN show up. And only the ones with NO pic at all didn't have a pic show up. TN only or not. The pics all came up regardless of TN only.
I know that a pic is not necessary, but it is very helpful and gets past a lot of reservations to have a pic. The friend making process on here is hard enough due to suspicions (not at all paranoid suspicious, either).
Now that my pic came up for someone I was trying to gently transition into nudism, that is blown for a while. 2 steps forward, 1 step back.
The moral of the story is: set your pic to Friends only not just TN. Hopefully that will block it. But I don't know, and I am not willing to try.

Read the initial information when you create an account. It states that your profile picture WILL be seen. If someone searches and your profile shows up, your profile picture is shown too. If htey go to your profile, your profile picture will not show if you have it set to only friends or certified, but it is visible in the step prior. The site tells you that up front.
Take my profile pic for example. That really is me, but good luck identifying me from it. If you are somehow magical and can identify me, I can still deny it is me since no other human could identify me from that picture. I'd love to get certified, but I have my reasons to protect my identity. Want to see me nude...run into me in the places that I get nude. For me, it is about being nude, not showing nude.
