Should one get dressed in order to answer the door to unwanted visitors?
I have a sign on my garden gate saying 'no visitors except by appointment'. However, people regularly ignore and bang on my door (like this morning). I could not decide whether to answer the door naked (on the basis that since whoever it was had chosen to invade my privacy they had no right to complain) or ignore them. I chose the latter. Completely fail to see why I should have to grab clothes etc and get dressed just because someone (uninvited) has taken it upon themselves to bang on my front door.
Suffolk,Since you have clearly posted your mesage, no I don't think you should have to get dresed to answer the door. But, perhaps if you cleary stated a nudist lives there it would deter some while, no doubt, attracting curiosity seekers. So, it's kinda a Catch 22 situation I suppose.
I don't have a gate and near strangers are obliged to come to my door due to my roll with our village hall. If I could, I'd love to put a sign on the gate saying "Telephone ..... before entering" and one on the door saying "Beware, a nudist lives here."
There was a pair of ladies that went through my apartment complex every weekend promoting their brand of religion. The first few times they came by I tried to be polite, said no thanks to theirpamphlets or offers to talk but they weren't taking the hint. The next to last time they came by I dropped the politeness and told them to stop annoying me. They must have thought I was kidding the previous week and sure enough there was the knock on my door. This time I didn't bother pulling on shorts but opened the door completely naked. Needless to say they were shocked and even speechless for a moment so I took theopportunity to invite them in to talk. One of the ladies started to come in but her friend grabbed her arm. She seem to come back to her senses and stepped back then had the balls to ask me to get dressed so they could come in. Told them if they wanted to come in I was going to stay nude and they had to undress also. They haven't been back.
I had a visitor drop in on my during the week, my sister in law. I'd been skinny dipping in her pool with her husband in the past and both she and my wife were there but we had all had a few drinks at the time. Her husband is away and she was dropping in to check up on me and have a coffee, she's been good to me since my wife's passing. I explained that I'm often naked at home, she seemed OK and didn't ask me to cover up but we did have the kitchen table between us. What are the best suggestions here, should I have offered to cover up or get dressed?
