Aeroponics

I have an aeroponic garden, which is really nice given that we have a 60-day growing season where we live. The only problem is that I have to tend it clothed. Most all of our plants are in our south-facing sunroom, which unfortunately is on the front of our house in view of the neighbors and street. And the plant lights in the garden are really bright. Anyway, I might eventually move it, so I don't have to dress to go pick lettuce. Anyone else do indoor vegetable gardening? What do you grow?

No indoor veggies for us except when we're seed starting in February-April here in Virginia. Our home is darned tiny, and that's the way we like it. The seed starting happens in our barn, keeping the light away from us along with the dirt and clutter that does come with any gardening.

As to your aeroponic gardening options - it might make the naked harvesting of your lettuce a larger challenge, as do lots of things attached to nudism in general, but could you turn off the bright lights when you've got your skin showing, relying on some minimal light source until you get dinner picked and your bareness out of the line of sight? We're lucky to live in a nudist community so any gardening here is free to be seen by all neighbors and passersby. I wish all the world would get over freaking out about bareness, especially when it is witnessed from outside looking into someone's private lives. It is none of their damned business, eyeballing twits.

The garden is vertical, so it only takes up about 4 square feet but grows 27 plants. It works in small areas. I can turn the lights off to harvest my dinner. That would help. Still, it is awfully exposed. No doubt, I'd be a lot happier with a couple of acres without a street and from an open space trail in the back.
