NT - safe billabongs to skinny dip
I see a lot of billabong swimming promoted in the NT tourism adverts.
Does any body know of any billabongs or water holes that are safe for skinny dipping? and if so where are they located?
When I say safe, I mean obviously from crocs but also free of non-nudists who may cause a problem? I also do not wish to breach any indigenous matters.
NEVER swim in billabongs unless they are in a National Park. They are usually muddy and dirty especially this time of year and you don't know what is in the water. Crocs, tree branches, rocks, holes, shallows etc. Even ones far from the coast are a no no.
There's not many places if any to skinny dip except in the wet season maybe. Everywhere you go is full of tourists and grey nomads. There is an area on Casuarina beach in Darwin to go nude other wise you need to find a remote beach. I find that pointless because you can't go in the water because of box jelly fish, sharks and crocs. There was a nudist set up on the Mary River many years ago, i don't know if that still running.
