RE:Blind Creek Beach to get a facelift

Here at the clothing-optional beach in Seattle, it is not uncommon for patrons of the beach/park to walk nude to their cars to get an item that they forgot. And now that porta-potties have been placed in the parking area, folks walk nude to them from the grass or sand-beach.

I would assume that the beach and parking area are close together with little or no through traffic between them. At Gunnison, the parking lot is across the main park road from the beach and the restrooms and outdoor showers are visible to that road. Eliminates the opportunity to go between the beach and the parking lot, rest rooms or shower nude, or to take a nude shower. Some people do only cover to the minimum. like the minimal loincloth I mentioned or a g-string.

The latest bulletin from the Treasure Coast Naturists states that the work will begin in May or June. Hopefully, for the sake of beach goers and construction workers alike, they do the work at night like they do highway work here in Florida. Putting down hot asphalt under the sun in 90 degree heat would be rough vs under the lights in the 70's. Also it would be less disruptive to the beach goers.

The latest update from TCN:

"We've been advised by the County that there have been some delays in obtaining approvals from the various government agencies who need to sign off on the project. The latest prediction for the commencement of construction is "summer or fall of 2024." We will keep you advised as soon as we have further information."

Maybe it is best that they do it during off peak tourist season. This beach is becoming very popular to the point that even during the week, the parking lot fills up by late morning/ early afternoon. This seems to be typical of any where there is a nude beach. Coming down A1A from the north, I pass a half dozen or more small beach parking lots at about 10-20% capacity, then get to Blind Creek and the much larger lot is packed to capacity.
On a side note: This time of year a good percentage of the cars have out of state plates or are rental cars ( in Florida, rental car registrations expire in June). This beach definitely helps tourism in the area as does Haulover in Miami.

Latest update from TCN

Latest Update on the Restroom
and Parking Area Construction Project
The update (as of May): All necessary approvals and permits have been obtained for the project. The County estimates that they will be selecting a contractor around August 2024, and that construction will begin around December 2024. The project is estimated to take about 6 months. We are working with the County to provide interim parking during the project, but those details have not yet been worked out.

Great that it is finally going to get started, Too bad the construction will be during the busiest time of the year. Hopefully they can keep the disruptions to a minimum, especially on the weekends.
