Couch surfing in Montreal

I have to admit I have never done couch surfing but I am interested in it as most hotels and B&B's I am looking at are booked for the dates I need.
I'm planning on going to Montreal and staying in the downtown area preferably close to the Village if I can. So if there is anyone who does couch surfing or has done it can you let me know.
