always work my garden naked, and usually do the mowing in the huntin club fields naked, as no one is around off season. sometimes take a hike in the forest naked as there is thousands of acres of mountain forest around us. Sometimes do timber harvest naked, I guess that's kinda rare but I'm so at home in the woods with a chain saw I don't feel it unduly hazardous to do it with no protection.
As we prepare for Hurricane Hilary to bring us massive amounts of rain, as predicted, I did a bit of recon of the backyard. I moved things, put things away and let the sun shine all over the body. Then, I got the generator up and running, the cars filled with gas and checked all our emergency supplies. We're good to go. I don't anticipate the winds and rain they are predicting. They do that to us all the time and then we hardly get a drizzle but at least we're prepared. Oh yeah, I did retrieve an Amazon package from the front porch completely naked. It's pretty hot here and the neighbors across the street have their shutters closed. Coast was clearer here than on the real coast!
Well, last week I was in tropical north Queensland spending a lot of time naked outdoors, around the Airbnb and on the beach. Back in cooler Victoria (Australia), I take advantage of sunny moments outside whenever they offer themselves. Photo (if it lasts) was a couple of days ago.
Went hiking...15kms only..was a great winter day..sunny cold...but i left the car park clothed till about 1 km then i tripped off...being in the national park with trees to stop the wind it was enjoyable..i only came across a textiles on pushbike...he did stop..surprised someone will hike naked in winter...but after i introduced myself as a frevent naturist and gave him my blog details, he understood and went on his way...a good day as i m sure he will try taking hos clothes off and enjoy the freedom!
I've been keeping an eye on your weather up there for the last few days, Vince. Certainly warm enough to shed the clothes!
(Edit: thought you were in Qld, not NSW - more bravery there, but the forecast looks good!)
Yes it s only cold for a little while...the other day, I started at 7 am...4 degres Celcius only...had a tshirt and armless jacket, a cap and a short no undies....with backpack 7.5kg...felt cold for few minutes then i was warm enough to undress....fast walking and arms movement with squizzing of hands means i was warm....although i was trying to avoid a sweat to minimise the risk of hypothermia as temperature only reached 11 2two hours later...but the lack of wind in the national park and the warmth of the morning sun made it possible for me to enjoy hiking naked for few hours....
A note of caution to those tempted to emulate. ....hypothermia is a real risk when hiking naked in low temps...know your limits....watch the weather....safety first..if you pass out from hypothermia when you are naked alone in middle of nowhere you are in deep s_it and possibly going to die!
Have warm clothes with you and don't hesitate to cover up if feeling dizzy, cold, desoriented....( activate your PLB too...)and if having warm drink...sip slowly....place your survival blanket or even better if you have a survival pouch, get in it....get warm, get some rest, eat something, stay hydrated and then return to safety if you can...otherwise stay foot on activation of PLB....
