Bald Head Island

Back when I used to vacation down on Topsail Island a decade or more ago, I heard rumors about a nudist beach down toward or on Bald Island, south of Wilmington, NC. I thought I knew enough about the area to drive down that way and just find a spot where I could go nude but all I did was waste a day of vacation driving around. It was pretty but also fruitless for naked places. I think the rumor was along the lines of you had to go there at low tide and walk through the surf to actually get there, but it was so long ago my memory is not trustworthy, I'm sorry. My gal at the time and I did walk as far south on Topsail Island as we could go and I lay out without my suit on for a few hours with so few people around down there. That was in May and I'm betting there are a bunch more folks to contend with now, especially during the busy season.
