Yes. They are the same battle. I just think "battle of the bulge" sounds crap. and the ""Ardennes Offensive" has more import or at least Hitler did. Sorry, if I'm a bit snobbish about this.
In my reading US generals were quite slow at reacting to first reports but Monty knew that they were after Antwerp. 55,000 British and Canadian troops moved south and stopped the German troops crossing the Meuse river, then on to Antwerp. OK a small contribution but significant. General Sir Alan Brooke covered it up for "political" reasons.
