A question/concern from a proud nudist . . .
I am new to the site, a member for fewer than two weeks and, gratefully, I have already made friends. However, I do have a question/concern. Nudism is a lifestyle that I assume we all embrace and nothing for which to be ashamed. And it is a social activity, not a solitary one. As important, no matter our age or body, we embrace a philosophy that we are all beautiful creatures to be appreciated and valued. So, my question/concern is this: Why so many accounts with no images; why so many people live on chat without their cameras on (whether clothed or unclothed -- the latter preferred, of course, given the focus of the site)? We all should be proud, we all should be comfortable, we all should be encouraging, we all should be polite, we all should be social. And that means sharing and, yes, baring. Thanks, especially all those folks who've reached out to me. Cheers, Malcolm
I completely understand and respect your situation and point of view. I just think so many folks don't even have a profile pic up. And if chatting, what's the issue with showing your face. Being clothed or unclothed really isn't the main issue. And I am sincere when I say that I appreciate your comment. I believe in open discussion -- of all issues. Cheers.
Some people do not have profile pics because they only want to share with real nudists who act like civil human beings. Some are beyond tired from being attacked and insulted for sharing ideas and opinions through conversation. Women are especially vulnerable to the many idiot men here who do nothing but treat them like pieces of meat that are here only for their viewing pleasure.
If people want others to share, then engage in conversation and act like a civil and respectful human being with something to say. Otherwise, these people can go to the many porno sites on line where they can stare at whatever they want.
Here are some thoughts:
1) Some people have jobs/spouses and have to mindful of their persona for various reasons.
2) More attractive/desirable profiles can generate a lot of traffic and interest, and not for the right reasons. That's, for example, why I pose as a hairy middle aged suburban dad even though I'm really a 27 year old international celebrity underwear model (yes, that's bad dad humor)
3) The site moderators and antiquated software make posting pictures so difficult that many try and give up.
4) Having filled out profile with pix is a commitment.
5) The site attracts people with other motives than being a proud nudist.
Welcome and good luck!

I think that anyone who has been a member of other social media sites will have remarked that some profiles don't have pictures. As some members have pointed out, there are valid reasons why someone might not have a picture, and that has nothing to do with pride or lack thereof. There are also lots of people who have empty profiles all over the place (here, there, everywhere) and you can take from that what you will, I ignore empty or almost empty profiles. But rather than just look to see if there is a picture or not, check the rest of the person's information out, and see how well filled in or focused it is, whether they belong to groups are active and have many contacts especially older members and that will perhaps tell you something about the person and if they are here to share in a naturist or nudist community and make friends.
I think the biggest strength of this website is the forum. You get a good picture from the people who are posting here. Get an idea what they are thinking, get an idea of their character. The pictures are not so important, some members have a career. And yes many profiles are fake. Although I understand your point. It would be great if everybody describes honestly her/his interests on their profiles.

Same as my thoughts.
Several people here have commented that pictures they posted here wound up elsewhere and they don't know how they got there.
That's why I don't post pictures.
Also, the few times I tried they were taken down,
Don't know why,
Most were not nude and none were sexual.

The very arbitrary way the rules of picture posting are applied in here (I speak in the third person since none of our photos have been denied or removed) seems a lot bit crazy. That having been stated, I have read the rules a few times and think I understand them better than some. I self-edited (aka removed) one of the ones I posted a few days ago because I realized after I'd posted it that I was breaking the rule of genitals showing without my face in the frame - though I am speaking of my ass cheeks as the main focus of the picture, not my (warning - language joke alert) dangling participles.
I feel for the nudists here who need to be extra careful about their photos due to career or other reasons. I am so glad to not have to worry about such things, and that my sweetheart also need not fret our faces and bodies being seen fully by the rest of the world. We support all pursuits of nudity and naturism.
It has been said by many of the posters in here but here's my take: Being nude need not be measured by how many naked people are around you, but more by your improved connection to the Universe completely bare to it. You have no physical secrets to hide when you are nude, and that is metaphysically a drastic improvement over living the lie of cloth.
I thank you (and everyone) who has responded to my post. Most enlightening. Thinking I'm a bit naive -- sad at 79 and being well-traveled and well-read. But I am horribly inexperienced regarding social media. I have a lot to learn. What prompted my original post was the overwhelming lack of images and cams for a site the celebrates (supposedly) the beauty of our physical forms. I now have a much better understanding of the "why." I sincerely thank you and the others who took the time to respond. I am grateful. Cheers, Malcolm
