naked at home
Not sure if by young property you mean your property but Im going to assume that for now. Short answer.: It depends! (as is so often the case for so many legal things). Where you live and your local ordnances, or the lack thereof, affects the answer. Mostly true: Inside your house, if you are not intentionally standing in front of a window for the sole purpose of exhibiting yourself, especially in an aroused state, you are legal and protected by law almost everywhere in NC. If the only way your neighbors can see you is looking in your windows (even if they can see you while sitting in their own living room with their unaided eyes) then you are still good and they can be charged under peeping Tom laws for looking in your windows at you. Exception: you cannot expose yourself to others without their consent even IN your home, without their consent, such as the pizza delivery person, unless they are trespassing (there without your permission). Also usually true: if you live in a rural area and wish to wander your fields nude, without immediate neighbors who might see you, you are effectively legal as no state or federal laws prohibit that. Just as there are no laws prohibiting nudity on Federal Land, which is why nude hiking is mostly legal in the right places, NC has no laws regulating personal nudity on your own private property. HOWEVER - local jurisdiction can and do have local laws regarding being naked in public which can be construed to mean in public view, even if on your own property, once you step out your door. So if you live in a suburban neighborhood, although the state of NC may have no statute on nudity on your property, you may not be legal to wander even your own yard nude if you are in plain view of your neighbors. Inside your house you are protected. Once you step outside your door your right to nudity is severely curtailed, even on your own property, by many local ordnances. I am not a lawyer, this is not legal advice, but as a rule, things are legal when they are not specifically ILLEGAL. There are some situations where there are just no laws on the subject, so yeah, in most situations, you are legal (and protected) to be naked anywhere on your property provided you are not clearly in plain and easy view of others who are NOT on your property but can clearly see you exposed. Not sure that helps but that is my understanding. Like I said: it depends.
