There Is Something That I Have To Laugh At, At Most Of The Posts In This Und SImilar Groups
That is that the people who are going on some sort of nude walk, run, bicycle ride, stroll on a textile beach, taking the trash out, picking up the newspaper, et cetera, et cetera. That is that for the most part they seem to fall into one of two general categories.
The first category are those people who when they are out on their little nude excursion, will when they encounter someone who is a textile will quickly look for someplace to hide or someway to coverup, or to otherwise minimize their "exposure" to others. To not only myself, but apparently plenty of other people. That is a pretty asinine, but understandable reaction. Especially for those of us who did not have the good fortune to have grown up in a nudist household. As those of us who weren't we're taught pretty much as soon as we enter kindergarten that it is wrong, or bad, or whatever fear inducing BS our parents used to brainwash us that running around nude was "wrong."
Sadly, for most people that is a VERY difficult early "training/brainwashing" to break, und as we know sadly some never do.
Then there are those who while some of them may not have necessarily grown up in a nudist household either grow up in a household that allowed for individuality, or were otherwise able to overcome their childhood "training/brainwashing." Und accept that there is nothing wrong with going nude. Und it is something that EVERYONE should be able to do, if the so desire without fear of repercussions. These people when they encounters others, again usually those who are not already of the nudist mindset. Will just keep on doing whatever it is that they are doing. Some have even struck up conversations with those that they have encountered. If what they've said here und in other similar groups is true. Generally speaking those that they have encountered while, understandably a little shocked at first to encountering a nude person out on the street taking their trash out at 5:00am, or bringing in the morning newspaper at the same time, or going for a walk, run, bike ride "late" at night. Generally don't freak out, und when explained that the nude person is a nudist. They're a little more understanding und excepting of what is happening, und apparently are willing to stand there und engage in a conversation with someone who is nude.
I also have to agree with those members who have commented on the posts in these various groups. That IF a person has been a practicing nudist for [B]ANY length of time. Then as they say there IS going to come a time when one gets "caught" in the nude by someone that they may not have intended to "catch" them while in the nude. Be it the in-laws, their own parents, the delivery person, a spouse's friends. Ya go nude long enough und someone sooner or later is going to see you, even if you are an at home/solo nudist.
Interesting thoughts. I agree with you that if you are completely comfortable with your nudity it should not matter who sees you. Of course, you have to be aware of local laws against public nudity and the vagueness around the application of 'public lewdness'. When I'm nude hiking on trails that are not sanctioned as clothing optional, I always carry shorts with me and slip them on if I see someone coming. I have been caught a few times and only once was there a negative reaction and the couple called the police. Although you may feel very comfortable about your nudity, you have to be aware of the effect it has on others that don't support it.

Exactly, as nudists we're supposed to be so comfortable in our own skin that we do not feel the need for artificial covering. Whether on our own, or in company.
I also agree with you that we as not only nudists but as individuals that we need to be aware of not only the local laws concerning simple public nudity/indent exposure but how they are interrupted. Or what other laws that local law enforcement will try to use in place of those laws. As an example a while back NYS passed a law to allow women to go shitfree anywhere a man can. But in some areas the police will use other various laws to harass women for doing so.
Which in und of itself really isn't a bad idea. As also at our core most of us do not wish to offend anyone with our nudity. How did that turn out for you?
Again, true.

But in NYS very few women even attempt to go shirtfree.
I'm totally comfortable being nude and I'm unconcerned about who might see me. I have nothing to hide and nothing to be ashamed of. I would have no problem continuing about my business and even engaging in conversation with nudist and non-nudist alike.
However, the laws here see it differently. Merely being nude can get you arrested and on the sex offenders registry for the rest of your life. It's just not worth it.
But nudity laws are state specific. The Federal government has no authority in this.
Maybe this is one of those area where it should. As if I am not mistaken, looked at one way there is NO law(s) preventing nudity in the Federal parks. It's just that they usually differ to whatever the local laws are.

Very true, sadly it seems as if there are more ways to get on the sex offenders registry then there are ways to get off of it.
Ok a few years back. Working for the city of Phoenix, I was driving through a city park, there was one of those bad guys that should not be. I know I know.
Anyway its was part of my job to make the park safe for people. The guy was naked and masterbating. I stopped called the cop who was working near the park. He was busy with something else but asked me to take a picture of the guy for future questions.
When I meet up with him later, he got out the registration book out. We looked up what the it said. Well surprised at what was written down. It was a misdemeanor if a kid was near different story. Even that was surprising to us both.
He knew the guy, and said he was a drug user.
So the whole point to me saying this. Check your local laws about being naked. You may be surprised at what it says. Not to mention that there are less police out there helping people now. So they may not even look at it as a crime.
But saying this does not mean anything. Just wondering what if you are naked in your yard or beach. Or just walking down a hiking trail, being free. Hmmm !

That's interesting, what was the law in regards to his being nude? Was that a misdemeanor? I'm guessing that his masturbating was a misdemeanor? Und I'm guessing that he wasn't on the registry?
As far as I am concerned, privacy fence or not, one SHOULD[/] be able to go nude in their yard at any time that they want, as it is after all one's own property.
One thing else that I find interesting with this topic is that if a woman for whatever reason is outdoors in the nude. That generally speaking that people are more willing to cut them some slack und assume that they were the victim of something or other, such as they might have experienced a "wardrobe malfunction," or someone for whatever reason took their clothes. But on the other hand if a man is outdoors nude, it is pretty much automatically assumed that they are up to no good, that they have some sort of "perverted" or "nefarious" reason for being outside in the nude. NOT just the very simple reason that they are a nudist who enjoys going nude.
