Naughty prank
Someone put a note in an envelope on the back of my small van. On the outside was written ' To the naughty nudists'. We'd been to a mountain nude spa and were late starting out to get home that evening and were totally unaware why there were many overtaking vehicles sounding their horns and waving to us. One couple pulled over and told us about the message which was of course investigated. They ended their trip to find somewhere to go that weekend and told the site about finding us on the road, stripped nude for their first time. They had a free visit and we got a finders fee from the same site next time we went there. Surprise to know that driving nude does include wearing shoes, don't drive with bare feet!!!!! 06092021
Better bare feet than flip-flops, which can get caught on the pedals. It feels strange at first but it's easy to get used to. Driving barefoot being illegal seems to be an urban myth from the pre-internet days. My Mum was concerned when I got my driver's licence in the late '80s. I tried it anyway and found it to be fine.
An interesting read on the subject... Is it illegal to drive barefoot?
I have heard all of the arguments against barefoot driving in that article before. If somebody does better wearing shoes then they should go with what works for them. But stating *if someone is involved in an accident and is found to have driven barefoot, they could be cited for reckless driving or negligence* ?? Im gonna call BS on that. For sure the phrase could be is a broad statement but Im sure I could beat that in any court. Personally I feel I have better control when I am driving barefoot but Im probably barefoot more than most people.
I think that there used to be laws against it in some states in the US long, long ago. The rationale I heard was that the vibration of the engine would transmit through the linkage to the accelerator pedal and put the foot to sleep. But by the middle of the last century, enough measures had been taken to prevent that from happening... better engine mounting and the use of cables to replace linkage... that it ceased to be a problem, and the laws were repealed.
