Herman Cain for President!
The run for the 2012 Presidential election has begun. Obama has already declaired his intention to run. The Republicans are searching for someone to run against our sitting President in November of 2012. There are a lot of tired old faces out there but I recently attended a gathering of grass roots individuals and met a man who, I feel, can rescue our Country from the malaise in which we now find ourselves. His name is Herman Cain. Please check him out. His web site is hermancain.com. Go to the News Room page and listen to some of his past speeches and interviews. Personally I found him to be very intelligent, charismatic and articulate with a very deep grasp of the problems facing America and the World today.
I urge you to check him out and, if you feel as I do, send him a donation. Oh, by the way, the first thing you will notice about Mr. Cain and he will tell you this, is he is Black.
Herman Cain has an up hill battle in getting recognized. The reason for this is he is Obama's worst nightmare. The main streammedia has a problem with him because he completely destroys their argument that the Republicans are racists. They therefore will not report upon any of his campaign activities. Despite the fact that he is receiving so little media coverage, he is continueing to rise in the polls.
The media doesn't portray Republicans as racist. Just TeaBaggers.
First of all, you're dead wrong about Republicans not being portrayed as racists. Not in all instances of their mention, but enough of them.
Second, your use of the term "Teabaggers" is a deliberate smear (implying homosexual activities) of a group of people who simply have a political viewpoint different than yours. Is this acceptable behavior from someone constantly reminding others they're moderators here? Once again you prove diversity-loving liberals are some of the biggest hypocrites around. And while I'm at, please explain why the Tea Party is considered racist by anyone. If you do, please cite clear, concise examples in lieu of emotional outbursts.
Herman Cain is a great American and very intelligent he is my second choice on the Republican ticket and would be first if he had more name recognition and $$$ in his war chest. also teabagger isnancy pelosi term for terrorist kinda like calling all democrats socialist !
I'm a Republican, a Teabagger, and an ultraconservative, but I'm not a racist or sexist. I just think that big government should stay out of our lives!
That sounds more Libertarian. I am socially liberal and fiscally conservative and at this time SC you don't have to declare a party affiliation
I'm a Conservative Republican with Libertarian leanings, tea party patriot, and now a Herman Cain supporter thanks to a recent post by I think DesertRat or DanandJanette a few months ago. We need a man with his integrity as a champion for smaller government. I'm liking what I'm hearing from him.
Mike
Well as I said under my foum post he is impressive but flat taxes are flat earth theory, its way too simplistic unless they completly overhaul the complete tax system, the structure is way too complex and clever tax lawyers will use complex structures to minimise tax. I worry that his approach will simply favour corporates and the failure of the supply side economics is not acknowledged. The US needs to raise taxes to pay the debt, something that seems to be in denial or massively cut Defense. I saw a report of the 6 senators 3 DEM and 3 gOP guys who are meeting to pull together a common solution.
Cheers

Right on brother!
I am glad he addresses a major weakness but he doesn't really address his process for choosing the people to assist him but at least he has intellectual rigour.

Herman Cain
Ever
since the South Carolina Republican presidential debate, reporters have
continued to challenge me for not having a specific plan for our
nations involvement in Afghanistan. They continue to think that if you
are running for president then you must have an answer for everything. I
dont! A real leader has the right questions for everything.
When
asked about what I would do about our involvement in the war in
Afghanistan during the debate, I answered by asking the questions that
should have been asked before we got involved many years ago. What is
our mission? How does it serve our interest? Is there a path to victory?
If not, then what is our exit strategy?
I
ask these questions instead of shooting from the lip because there is
obviously a lot of classified information to which I do not have
access. There are dozens of experts and military leaders I would need
advice from before I could make an informed decision about a real clear
plan for the USAs involvement in Afghanistan. Similarly, a real clear
strategy for every country with which we have relationships would be
developed, regardless of whether or not we are involved in a military
conflict.
To
be clear, I want to be out of Afghanistan and all war-torn countries as
much as the next person. But I am not going to propose a half-baked
plan based on half the information I would need to make the right
decision, just to pretend I know everything.
On
the other hand, I do know enough about our solid relationship with
Israel from decades of observations that I would make it even stronger,
which isnt just about dollars. And, I would not be hesitant to let the
rest of the world know that we will stand by and with our friends.
I
succeeded in business for over 40 years by asking the right questions
of the right people about the right problems to get to the right
solutions. Thats what most successful people do, and I would do the
same thing as president of the United States of America.
Aside
from the fact that I disagree with many of President Obamas policies,
practices and decisions, consider some of the decisions and statements
Im sure he wishes he could do over. He promised to be out of
Afghanistan by July 2011, date certain. Its not going to happen. He
wanted to close the Guantanamo military prison facility and put the
prisoners, mostly terrorists, in our federal prisons. It didnt happen.
He
said passing the $787 billion stimulus bill (before extenders which
pushed the total closer to $1 trillion) would get the unemployment rate
back under 8 percent. The unemployment rate has not been under 8 percent
since the stimulus bill was passed, and it was recently reported for
April at 9.0 percent.
President
Obama also said that a lot of the stimulus spending would go toward
shovel-ready projects, only to admit later that there is no such thing
as a shovel-ready project. Maybe he should have asked somebody, or
maybe he thought we would not notice. We noticed!
As
president, one may not make all the correct decisions, but you improve
your success rate if you make decisions based on as much of the right
information and advice as you can get. Maybe President Obama has just
been getting bad advice. If so, he didnt surround himself with the
right people.
Working
on the right problems, asking the right questions, surrounding oneself
with the right people, and removing barriers to success is real
leadership.
Its much better than shooting from the lip.

The name "Tea Party" is a reference to the Boston Tea Party,
a protest by colonists who objected to a British tax on tea in 1773
and demonstrated by dumping British tea taken from docked ships into the harbor.
Some commentators have referred to the Tea in "Tea Party" as the acronym "Taxed Enough Already"
I know who Herman is and he is a very bright individual. Just think how great it would have been for race relations and our country if Thomas Sowell would have been our first black president? Anyone using the term teabagger is a complete moron and should be kicked off the site. We can all have our differences but calling someone a homosexual slurto insult them is rediculous. Yes you see idiot we don't care if you are homosexual we now have the big tent. If you are homosexual that is your preference just don't shove it down our throats! No pun intended. On the other hand if you think a snail darter or a spotted owl is more important than a human then yep we have a problem
