Silkie Hikes (Irreverent Warriors)

For those that miss the camaraderie of the military, but don't want to deal with the some of the bullshit that can happen in the military, Irreverent Warriors puts on events throughout the year across America and its territories that does just that. They are called silkie hikes. They are called that because most people show up in the very iconic short silkie shorts (ranger panties). You hike/ruck about 14 miles and stop at multiple bars along the way. I have already done 3 in 3 different locations, and had an amazing time at each one. Beside camaraderie, the other point for the event is to bring attention to veteran suicide awareness. As most of you know, 22 of your brothers and sisters commit suicide every day. This event gives an outlet for someone that's struggling with suicidal thoughts or lost a brother/sister along the way due to suicide. There are multiple people you can reach out at the event. There are people that I met at each event and are still friends with to this day. It is 100% free, and only available for veterans and active duty/reserve service members. Anyone else can help as a volunteer or donate money. Below is the website if you want more information: https://www.irreverentwarriors.com/
